The Blind Side

If you like tear jerkers and good movies you will probably want to go see the Blind Side.

Usually the Hollywood propaganda machine does a really crappy job of addressing social issues. Having grown up as the child of a single mother in a lower income "cardboard village" Hollywood usually does little more than piss me off.

This movie was not as bad as I anticipated. In fact the culture shock between the haves and have-nots was pretty well documented. My Grandfather was in Mahogany Row at Chrysler, General Manager of Marketing and he owned an island so as a child I had a similar cultural issue of floating between poor and "rich".

The movie gives Liberal Democrats another reason to hate Republican Christians, it infers that the only reason the family helped "Big Mike" was to get a great athlete for their alma mater. Horse crap, if you are looking for a selfish reason for the family to help Big Mike it is more likely that the youngest kid was being picked on and befriended Big Mike as a way to keep the bullies away, but, that isn't inferred in the movie.

I think it most likely that the family saw the problem and since the mother was a charitable problem solver she just wanted to solve Micheal's problems.

Watch the movie, it is worth the money to see it in the theater.
